Building for Defence: A Brief History of Fortifications in Abu Dhabi
As a contributing editor of Kaph, I am working with their client the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture on this translation of fortification architecture and histories across the Emirate. My invovlement includes overseeing all editorial aspects of the book, and advising on the overall graphic design and publication production.

Co-edited with Hoor Al Qasimi a monograph on outsider artist Abdullah Al Saadi. Edited contributions from the artist, his archival materials, documenting lesser-known works as well as commissioned new writing about his practice.

Urban Design Guidelines for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Editorial lead and content developer for nearly 31 design and architectural manuals for various regions in the Kingdom, including Najd, Al Qatif Oasis, Al Ahsa Oasis, and Najran. I synthesise the information from the architects, develop the content alongside copyrwriters and organized the content / graphic workflow between the different stakeholders.

Gradients, Steppes, and Tiers: A Human Geography of Asir
Authored a publication on the urban and geographic history of the region of Asir alongside the photographic works of Muneera Al Yahya.

Managed the production of Khalil Rabah’s 500-page monograph alongside the editorial, graphic and production teams.

Sports and Ecology in the Emirates: Falconry
Developed a multi-year research project and authored several chapters on the contemporary practices of falconry in the Emirates alongside comparative links to regional sports and indigenous heritage cultures.
Commissioned by Al Kamda Falcons and conducted between 2020-2022.
March Meeting Papers
Extrapolating design motifs from 1990s graphics of Sharjah Biennial, this series of 22 booklets (11 in Arabic and 11 in English) highlighted the role of global biennials in the contemporary arts. I led the design, production and editorial cycle of this project, as well the epub/digital version of the booklets.

Ahmed Morsi: A Dialogic Imagination
Working alongside the editor Salah M Hassan and Hoor Al Qasimi, I co-led this publication partnership between Skira, the Africa Insitute and Sharjah Art Foundation on the artist Ahmed Morsi. I consulted on the editorial content, the design process and hosted its launch in Sharjah.

Developed the art direction and graphic design with Moylin Yuan and Michal Jurgelweicz for the publication associated with EXPO 2020’s public art installations.

Hassan Sharif: I Am The Single Work Artist
Alongside Hoor Al Qasimi, I worked and developed the monograph on pioneering conceptual artist Hassan Sharif. Developed the texts, art direction, and led in-depth research through the artist’s archive.
Worked alongside Karen Marta Editorial Consulting and the publisher Koenig Books as well as partner institution KW Institute for Contemporary Arts, Berlin. Published in 2020.
Al Shindagha Museum, Cultures of the Sea - Dubai
Working alongside the exhibition and architectural team, I led and authored several research papers during the museum’s build-up for its overall storytelling and narrative components. Led research into Arabic and English materials on wooden-ships and building techniques.
Commissioned by EMPTY Architects, Dubai Culture and Mindset-Res. Worked between 2018-2019.
Ibrahim El Salahi: Prison Notebook
This project involved a facsimile reproduction of artist Ibrahim El Salahi’s prison notebook, currently in the MoMa Collection. Alongside the editor, artist, Sharjah Art Foundation, and MoMa, I managed and lead on all editorial aspects from Sharjah Art Foundation.
Published in 2019 by Thames and Hudson. An Arabic edition was also produced by Sharjah Art Foundation.
Two Suns in a Sunset / Se souvenir de la lumiere / شمسان في المغيب
Led this ambitious global co-production of Joana Hajithomas and Khalil Joreige’s multilingual monograph (French, English, Arabic). Worked alongside the artists, graphic designer, and institutional collaborators.

An artist book highlighting Hassan Sharif’s performances alongside poems from Cristiana di Marchi, I was the editorial coordinator of this book and worked alongside the editor Hoor Al Qasimi, the graphic designer, and editorial consultant.

Evolving Spaces: Dubai’s Emerging Cultural Districts
Authored this publication on the urban and spatial transformations of Dubai’s industrial districts into cultural zones. I worked as a researcher, interviewed major cultural players, and authored the text on the recent history of the Al Quoz neighborhood.
Worked alongside Brownbook, the publisher, and Charlie Koolhaas whose photographs accompanied the text. Published in 2011 by Brownbook and Falcon Communications.
